Write your own text, house address, name a cottage , a room or business, an inspirational or seasonal quote, family names, witty or funny comment, or just a general saying!

Now you can customize your own exterior outdoor wood sign! Great for outside your home, cabin or cottage, in the garden, wherever! Handmade by us at Heartwood Gifts from "Sign Board", which is solid 3/4" exterior-grade fir plywood sandwiched between a front and back outside layer of M.D.O. (Medium Density Overlay).

The caption & images are laser engraved into the M.D.O. (~1/32" deep, so not carved), while high quality outdoor paint is used for the background and all engraved areas. Multiple coats of exterior-grade clear lacquer is then applied.  Each sign features our signature-style exposed edge treatment, resembling a border, as shown on all sign pictures within the various sign categories.

We do our best to make sure every sign is made to be enjoyed for many years. Of course longevity will depend on the environment, which is why we recommend to install your sign under an overhang or with some protection from the direct elements, if possible.

Please allow 8 - 12 bus. days after proof is approved to ship.

Size is approximate and based on original cut before sanding and finishing

Note: Wood grain is not a feature on our outdoor signs.

There are many different ways to install exterior signs (using nails, screws, bolts, hooks, string, rope, chains, braces, etc.). For this reason hardware is not included.

A proof will be emailed to you and will require your approval before production begins. 

A Note About the Use of Images:  

My laser engraving technique is limited to using outlines and silhouettes for one-colour images (high resolution only). If there is more than one color, then the image needs to look like a stencil (example here). You may submit your own, or I will source my own.

Color chart serves only as a general reference.
