How many words or characters can be engraved on a journal or custom sign?
Because every font is different in size, we don't have a limit, per se. 99.9% of the time we make journals and signs work out and look great! For the signs, a proof designed to scale will be emailed to you for approval.
Can I see a proof of my custom sign BEFORE I make a purchase on your site?
Digital proofs are emailed for all sign orders with custom text, and because of the time it takes to do the layout, the design time is included in the price. Therefore I do require the order to be placed first. If there is anything about the proof that you would like to change just reply with the request. I will never proceed to make a sign before receiving proof approval.

I approved my sign proof but now just found an error. Can you fix it?
If we have not started on the sign, then yes, it can be fixed. However, once approval is received production can start at any time, and once the sign is laser engraved, it can not be reversed or corrected. If the order is canceled, a reimbursement will be issued based on the time incurred and cost of materials. You can then decide to accept the partial refund or put it towards a repurchase.
I just purchased an item with free personalized engraving. Can I see a proof?
Sorry, proofs are not available on items with free engraving (ie. leather journal, pens & pen sets)
Can I send you my own graphic?
Yes, however it will need to be a print-ready vector PDF, .eps or .ai file and not a raster (.jpg, .png, .gif, .tif). A raster is a series of dots or pixels which stretch and distort when resized. You'll know if it's a raster if the image gets blurry or pixilated when zooming in on it. A vector file is created from a mathematical model so that it can be zoomed into almost indefinitely without losing any crispness. The image will remain sharp.
I want a leather journal with engraving but unsure how big the type will be.
The text size will depend on the chosen font and name or caption length. Not to worry though, we will make sure that the size will suit the size of journal and be legible.
Can you engrave my company logo on a leather journal?
Yes. We will need a vector file format such as photoshop, illustrator or opened PDF. Additional cost may apply.
Can I pick up my order?
Yes, simply choose "Pick Up" in the shipping options. Please note that we are located in West Cloverdale (Surrey, BC). You will receive an email shortly after your order is placed with our exact pick up address.
Can you ship to a P.O. Box?
Only with Canada Post.
Do you make your wood signs with vinyl letters?
No. There is no vinyl on our signs at all. Instead, our signs are engraved with the words etched permanently right into the wood, and then painted by hand.
How do I get a preview of the font for engraving?
Unfortunately, our site does not have a built in previewer. We recommend that you visit https://fonts.google.com/ to see what different fonts look like with your caption. If there is a font you'd like which is not on the selection list, just request it in the comment box in the checkout.
Can wood signs be hung up outside?
The majority of our signs are for indoor use, but we do have a category for exterior outdoor signs: If you see another sign on our site that you would like to make as an outdoor sign, just mention it in the "Any Special Insructions" box when ordering. We'll also send you a proof to approve before making your outdoor sign.
Are all your Happy Customers comments actually from real customers and unsolicited?
They sure are. We are very blessed with many many Happy Customers from all over the world who have, out of their own initiative, emailed us to let us know how much they appreciate our service and quality. Some have even snail-mailed us hand-written cards!

Are prices in USD or Canadian Dollars (CAD)?
Canadian Dollars. This is good news for American customers, since the USD is worth more than CAD. If paying with an American credit card, the currency conversion will be applied automatically on your statement.
What is your privacy policy?
Our website does not collect any visitor information. The only information we collect is that which is given by the vistor in order to fill orders and/or respond to inquiries. This information is not shared with anyone else. See our Privacy Policy page for more information.
Is my credit card information secure when I order?
Yes, your information is absolutely secure. Our website utilizes a SSL (secure socket layer) encryption to assure that your credit card information is not seen by anyone, including us. This is industry-standard encryption that major web sites use to protect users all over the web. Our security certificate is purchased through GeoTrust, the world's second largest online securtiy certificate provider. To verify, simply click the GeoTrust badge at the bottom right corner of the webpage. Alternatively, if you are on a PC, you may click on the padlock icon next to the "https" in the address bar. Note that our secure pages are only applicable on any webpage which requires your personal information, such as during checkout, or when you sign in to your account.
I just made a purchase, but when I went to find the product on the site, it was missing. What happened?
We only try to show products that we have in stock on the site. If there was only 1 left of the one you purchased and you were lucky enough to get the last one, our site will then not show it anymore. However, you can still access the product page if you have the direct URL or link to it. If you don't have this, just let us know and we'll be happy to send it to you.
Do you make the products on your site?
Our products are hand made from various artisans from all over (as many locally as possible). We also handcraft all wood signs.
Can I get a shipping estimate without signing up for an account or going through the checkout process?
Yes, you can get a shipping quote in the checkout. Click on "more info" next to the shipping line.
Do you have a physical store?
We are an online store only and do not have a physical store. However we do welcome pick-ups (by appointment only). Please see the shipping page for more details on how to place an order for pick up.
Can I come down and see the products in person?
We are a home-based online store only and do not have a showroom for the public.
What do I do if there is a problem with my order?
Contact us immediately and reference your invoice number. If the error was our mistake, we will make it right without added cost to you. If it involves personalization and the error was your oversight, we will offer to do the job again (if possible) for the same charge. Please note that we do send out proofs for most engraving orders (ie. custom wood signs) and require approval before any work commences.
Should there be an apostrophe "s" at the end of the family name on the sign I'm ordering?

Can I submit my own art file for a custom wood sign?
My laser engraving technique is limited to using outlines and silhouettes for one-colour images (high resolution only). If there is more than one colour, then the image needs to look like a stencil (example here). You may submit your own, or I will source my own.
