------------
This is an original piece handcrafted with 100% reclaimed window glass, otherwise bound for the landfill. Generously thick and solid, and the findings are made from surgical steel
After the glass is cut into the desired shape, enamels are painted onto the glass surface. Enamels are blends of metal oxides which are also made by hand with a porcelain mortar and pestle. Preparing by hand allow greater control over hue, opacity, and texture. After the enamel dries, each piece is painstakingly detailed with inclusions such as copper, mica, and aluminum. A second round of enamels is applied. The pieces are then fired, sometimes multiple times.
Each piece is beautifully unique as it has its own naturally occurring variations during the enameling and firing stages. Enjoy!
